New high-speed rebar mill in operation at Feng Hsin Steel, Taiwan
It is one of the most efficient mills operating in Asia
Feng Hsin Steel released the final acceptance certificate for the new, high-speed rebar mill in operation in Taiwan.
The mill produces 745,000 tpy of quality rebar from 10 to 36 mm.
The perfect combination of the mechanical equipment powered by Danieli electrical and automation systems guarantees remarkable efficiency in terms of hourly production cost.
Featuring 2-strand slitting technology at maximum finishing speed of 40 mps, the mill is linked directly to the four-strand Danieli caster (supplied in 2014), through a Danieli Automation Q-Heat induction heater to equalize/increase billet temperature before rolling. Eighteen SHS+ housingless stands are followed by 2 four-passes modular fast finishing blocks fitted with the M2 multiple drive system, an 102-m-long cooling bed and finishing facilities.
Danieli Automation supplied all electric systems and the Q-Long L2 process control package.
Design concept and construction will make it possible to achieve long-service life and high-productivity, minimizing man-power and process costs.
