Danieli EAF technology selected for automotive-exposed grades

Shougang is the first BF-BOF steel enterprise in China that has achieved ultra-low emissions. Pursuing this vision Shougang selected Danieli Zero Bucket technology to be first in producing automotive-exposed grades by EAF.

Featuring horizontal preheating and continuous charging technology, the new Danieli Zero Bucket will have a capacity of 160 ton of tapped steel.

Danieli ECS Zero Bucket horizontal preheating and continuous charging technology minimizes carbon dioxide emissions, being flexible in raw material charging, low in energy consumption, and high in reliability and utilization, with less noise and pollutant emissions.

The selected Eco-Pro design will minimize CO2 emissions close to zero dispersion. The new Zero Bucket EAF will be equipped with unmanned / less-manned technology packages such as Q-Robot, Q-Ats, Q-Sand, to improve EAF operation and safety and achieve intelligent steelmaking.

The new EAF will be installed at Qian'an Steel works, in Hebei Province; its construction will start in October 2025 with completion target in December 2026.
