Danieli Q-Robots for Nucor-Yamato Steel
Automated operation and increased safety are the targets for the Q-Robots installation at the ladle furnaces
Nucor-Yamato Steel (USA) has awarded Danieli with the order for two Q-Robots for the ladle furnaces that are in operation at Blytheville plant in Arkansas, USA.
The two new Q-Robot samplers are part of the project to increase the automatization of operations and decrease the proximity of the operator to liquid steel.
Part of “Danieli Technological Packages”, Q-Robots automatically perform the entire sampling cycle. From the picking up of the cartridges from the specially designed distributors, until the delivery of the samples in a designated position, all operations are done automatically with just the push of a button.
The automatization of the sampling and temperature taking will allow operators to concentrate more on process supervision.
Overall, Danieli offers robotic solutions for melting and casting floor, rolling mill, zinc pot skimming, marking and tagging.
Robots are supplied by specialized Danieli Telerobot Labs, a company fully-owned by Danieli Automation, based in Northern Italy.
