New Danieli aluminium plate stretcher and major rolling mill modernisation to ALRO

ALRO SA, part of Vimetco NV - one of the seven largest aluminium producers worldwide, has contracted Danieli for the supply of a new aluminium plate stretcher and major cold rolling mill modernization for its plant located Slatina, Romania.

The new 18MN plate stretcher will process very thin aluminium plates with high surface quality of alloys series 1xxx to 7xxx used for aerospace, marine, defence and commercial transportation applications.

The modernization will allow ALRO cold mill #2 to improve sheet gauge and flatness tolerances, increase productivity, improve strip dryness and mill reliability. New filtering and fume treatment systems will also improve the environmental protection level.

Both projects include the implementation of a complete package of mechanical, fluid, automation and electrical systems as well as the complete supervision of the installation and commissioning.

Plant start-up is scheduled for the second quarter of 2018

Danieli Fata Hunter has been supplying ALRO since early 1970’s with three twin roll casters, a cold rolling mill, two foil rolling mills and further cold rolling mill upgrades.
