Danieli Morgårdshammar Guide Academy

The demand for improving plant performances is continually increasing, hence the seminars of the Danieli Morgårdshammar Guide Academy to improve operators’ skill and knowhow.

During these seminars, rolling mill operative personnel have the possibility to follow theoretical classes featuring plant layout and roll-pass design which are interconnected to roller-guide systems to make right choices and correct operations.

Practical skills are also improved by training sessions carried out at Danieli Service Hubs, where the seminars take place.

Current and/or potential problems at customer’s sites are also analyzed and solved during the meetings, which last two or three days depending on the specific interests of the customers (guides for bars, wirerod, special steel and intelligent guides).

Of course, the connection among different teams from the same steelmaking groups and also with other producers, sharing own experience, is of added value.

The first seminar was organized at Danieli Mesa Hub in Phoenix, Arizona, in the USA, with the participation of personnel from Charter Steel Saukville, Gerdau Jackson Steel Mill, Nucor Steel and CMC Steel Arizona.

The second seminar was held in Danieli do Brazil Hub, in Votorantim, São Paulo, for the Brazilian steel producer Gerdau, with coordinators, supervisors and rolling mill specialists from the company’s units in Brazil and Argentina.

A third one, still at Danieli do Brazil Hub, was focused on the needs of Villares Metals –a specialty steel producer part of the voestalpine Group.

Great interest was shown by participants to Danieli Intelligent Guides, especially in all the features of the RX guide exhibited in its functionality.
