Hoa Phat Dung Quat orders heavy-duty scrap shear from Danieli

As part of its expansion project, Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Joint Stock Co. recently awarded to Danieli an order for the supply of a 1400-t shearing force scrap shear, to be installed at Quang Ngai Iron and Steel complex, Vietnam.

There, the new shear will improve scrap quality and density for BOF charging.

With a total installed power of 730 kW (8 units at 90 kW each), the selected shear allows a wide cutting and productivity rate in excess of 6 cuts per minute and 70 t/hour, depending on the input material density, cutting length and process mode.

Featuring a heavy-duty design to cope with 20 hrs/day steel mill production, the shear also will be equipped with the Danieli “HEAD - Henschel Electronic Advanced Design” remote monitoring and trouble-shooting system”.

Being manufactured at the specialized Danieli workshop in Rayong, Thailand, the new shear will be commissioned in April 2020.
