Pittini Group contracts Danieli for new bar finishing facility

Product portfolio expansion and high production flexibility will be achieved at Acciaieria di Verona by upgrading the two-strand wirerod mill with a new bar finishing facility.

Bars ranging from 8 to 36 mm dia, in bundles up to 5 tons, and lengths from 6 to 18 m, will integrate the current production of 5 to 25-mm-dia quality wirerod performed by the modern Danieli mill in operation at the Verona site.

The existing mill will feed both the new bar line and the existing wirerod mill, which will be able to operate also simultaneously.

A new, compact, Danieli-patented Direct Rolling Bundling station will allow high-speed delivery of the bars into the cooling bed in a narrow, optimized space.

The Danieli Automation process control, extensive use of servo-drives, time-critical applications and sensors, will ensure high performance in terms of operational speed, product quality, efficiency, and maintainability, also thanks to advanced interconnection and data management, ready for use of artificial intelligence.

This new investment will make Acciaierie di Verona one of the most flexible and competitive mills in Europe.

The hot startup of the bar line is planned by end 2025.
