Transmission upgrade at OARC cold rolling mill

The non-reversing aluminium cold rolling mill of Oman Aluminum Rolling Company -OARC in Sohar, Sultanate of Oman, is operating with DanJoint gear-type spindles supplied by Danieli Service.

The previous grease-lubricated spindles have been replaced by brand new, oil-lubricated DanJoint spindles characterized by new design, materials and lubrication system, fully interchangeable without any additional modification on original equipment.

The new lubrication unit serving the spindles manages and optimizes spindle lubrication, feeding spindles and the gearbox at the same time, ensuring the required oil flow to both machines anytime.

Continuous oil lubrication grants the best performances of the spindle set during rolling, limiting component heating and safeguarding the mill’s cleanness from debris and contaminants.

OARC’s selection of DanJoint spindles OARC was made to bring considerably higher torque transmission to the mill stands than was possible with the original design.
