“Danieli Graduation Prizes” awarded to 6 engineering graduates of the University of Udine
4,000 euro to each of the winners, all resident in the province of Udine and holding a Master’s Degree in Electronic, Mechanical and Industrial Management Engineering

The “Danieli & C. Officine Meccaniche SpA Graduation Prize” was awarded to six new engineering graduates of the University of Udine. The contest, in its second edition, concerned the award of a 4,000 euro prize to each of the six selected students who graduated in 2015 in Electronic, Mechanical and Industry Management Engineering at the end of a five-year study course. This initiative, which has stemmed from the cooperation between Danieli and the University of Udine, is intended to foster a specialist post-graduate education in engineering. All the winners are resident in the province of Udine: Federico Iob from Tolmezzo, Master’s Degree in Electronic Engineering; Mattia Muntoni from Nimis and Matteo Degano from Rive d’Arcano, Master’s Degree in Industry Management Engineering; Francesco Cragnolini from Segnacco di Tarcento, Leonardo Rigo from Selvis di Remanzacco, and Stefano Furlanetto from Palmanova, Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
The prize-giving ceremony was held today afternoon at the University of Udine in Palazzo di Toppo Wassermann. The prizes were awarded by the Chairman and CEO of Danieli, Mr. Gianpietro Benedetti, and by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Udine, Mr. Roberto Pinton.
”This initiative”, underlined the Vice Chancellor Roberto Pinton, “confirms that the Danieli Group and the University of Udine share common objectives for the development of young graduates”. ”This prize is not only intended as a recognition of brilliant university careers, but also as an encouragement to take up higher education pathways in the fields of engineering.”
“Innovation and continuous improvement are priority objectives in order to be able to compete on the global market”, Mr. Gianpietro Benedetti said. “The Danieli Group has always considered the company-school/university cooperation as one of the levers for the improvement of competitiveness. We are, among other things, convinced supporters of the “third mission” of university and of the introduction of “soft skills” starting from the primary school. The “third mission” refers to university research bearing a positive impact on the territory where it operates, while “soft skills” essentially refer to teaching young people to become responsible for what they do and be motivated to manage at best their abilities and talents to their own satisfaction and merit.”
The “Danieli” prize is reserved to young graduates in electronic (1 prize), industrial management (2 prizes) and mechanical (3 prizes) engineering, resident in the provinces of Udine, Trieste and Gorizia, who have a minimum degree mark of 104/110. Moreover, the graduates must have earned both their Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees within the normal duration of their study course, without exceeding a five years’ total university registration period.
