Danieli receives acceptance for the new coil handling crane at ArcelorMittal Gent in Belgium

Customer satisfaction about the quality of the supplied equipment is testified by the repeated order Mittal already awarded to Danieli for a copy crane, at present under manufacturing stage.

Worth to be underlined, this crane and its twin have been conceived with the goal to be easily converted from on-board cabin operated into fully automatic, as part of the significant remotization project of the semi-finished products storages, going on at present at Arcelor Mittal.
This is the reason why the crane automation platform, PLC based, is already conceived to handle relevant sensors, such as cameras for remote view, radio remote control and supplemental encoders that will enable the remote/automatic handling.

With its rails span of 41,1 meters, the crane has been fully manufactured and pre-assembled before shipment in Danieli Centro Cranes in Brescia (Italy) and features a travelling speed of 120 m/min for long travel, a 60 m/min for trolley speed and a hoist speed of 20 m/ min, to optimize coil handling cycles.
Erection of the crane has been concluded in just 15 days; measured from the entering day of the crane main components in the building to the handling of the first coil, thanks to the use of SPMT (Self Propelled Modular Trailers) with hydraulic lifting, instead of conventional mobile cranes, arm type.

This new tool is at present in use in the cold mill of the Belgian flagship plant of AM group.
