Hot Test for 8 strands Billets caster completed in EVRAZ West Siberian Metallurgical Plant

On October 27, 2015, Danieli & C. S.p.A. and EVRAZ ZSMK completed the Hot Tests for the 8-strand Billet Caster modernization in Novokuznetsk plant, Russian Federation.

The Project involves an EPC contract and the 1st heat has been cast on October 3, 2015, ten (10) days in advance of the scheduled contractual date.

In October, the Caster was already producing more than 36,000 tons of good billets of 150x150 mm section, both in open stream and submerged casting method.
During November the production exceeded 80,000 tons - confirming the excellent ramp-up of the plant - and the machine was able to cast a sequence of 22 ladles in a single day.

The Billet caster has a ladle of 310 ton ladle size, 12 m main radius, rigid dummy bar, and it is equipped with the Power Mould™ technology which allows a productivity of more than 320 t/h.
