AUTOMATION

The HiLEVEL system is an instrument that has been developed based on from the extensive experience DANIELI AUTOMATION has in automation, control and instrumentation systems specifically designed for the steel industry. HiLEVEL system is based on low intensity electromagnetic fields and therefore does not require any specific safety precautions or procedures. The sensor is installed inside the mould, where its detection surface replaces part of the conveyor and faces the crystallizer. An electromagnetic field is generated by the sensor which also measures the reaction field created by the currents induced in the molten metal mass. The presence of the liquid steel in the mould changes the characteristics of the magnetic circuit which, as a consequence, changes the measured reaction field. The output signal from the processing unit can represent the level in the mould or be a reference to determine the casting speed. Additional functions as Initial casting speed set-up, Ramps and Start sequences can be provided for automatic start. Moreover, due to its shape and dimensions, HiLevel installation can be implemented even in presence of a mould stirrer.
